This another lovely PB cat. I stamped this one on acetate using black stazon too. Colored the image with the Whispers permanet pens and added beads again!!!

By the way I´m still posting from Peru but I´m not in Chiclayo (mu hometown)anymore. We had a great time visit my family and now we´re back to Lima for a few days and then back to N. Ireland next week. Thank you for all the lovely comments on my posts and the one with the pictures from the beach. I´ll be posting some more soon.

Santa Rosa

A few pictures of my holiday in Peru. Here I am with my hubby Kevin in Santa Rosa Beach in Chiclayo. The other piccie is from another beach called Pimentel. The weather is lovely, sunny and very warm.On the second picture I´m wearing the shell jewelry set I post earlier here which I made specially for this holiday.

Another great thing about being back to Peru and have visited my parents is that I found out that there are lots of beads shops in my local market. There are many stands and they´re one next to the other. I´ve already bought some beads and jewelry making stuff. I love it in here because everything is cheaper than in the UK.

He puesto unas fotos de mis vacaciones en Peru. Aqui estoy con mi esposo Kevin en la playa de Santa Rosa en Chiclayo. La otra foto es de una playa de aqui llamada Pimentel. El clima esta lindo, soleado y caluroso. En la segunda foto estoy usando el juego de joyeria de caracoles que hice especialmente para estas vacaciones.

Otra cosa genial de estar de regreso en Peru y haber visitado a mis papás es que he encontrado varias tiendas en las que venden mostazillas, perlas, piedritas de vidrio y todos los articulos para hacer joyeria y todas estan tiendas estan una al lado de otra. Ya he comprado algunas cuentas y material para hacer joyeria. Me encanta aqui porque todo es mas barato que en el Inglaterra.

PENNY BLACK SNOWMAN - HOMBRECITO DE NIEVE

This is an LO I made with a picture taken in my parents' house. It's my first post on my blog from Peru.

HOMBRE DE NIEVE SIMPLE

This is another snowman in which I used 3 layers and also 3D gloss. I added a pom-pom on his nose and buttons painted with silver spray paint. I used the Oval template for the background and wavy scissors. I also added a big silver snowflake from confetti.

Este es otro hombre de nieve en el que usé 3 capas y brillo 3D (tridimensional) Agregé un pom-pom en su nariz ay botones que pinté con pintura de spray plateada. Usé un molde oval para cortar el fondo y tijeras con puntas ondeadas. También agregé una hojuela plateada grande.

HOMBRE DE NIEVE & BEADS

This is a decoupaged card with 3 layers.I made it from 3 plain cards that had the same design. I used seed beads on the background and free papers from a magazine. I also added big silver snowflake confetti.

Esta es una tarjeta hecha con la tecnica de decoupage y utilizando 3 capas. La hize de 3 tarjetas simples que tenian el mismo diseño. Usé mostazillas en el fondo y papeles que vienieron gratis con una revista. También agregé confetti grande de ojuelas de nieve.

Guess what? I'm going on holiday this week and I'm going to my homecountry. It's getting close to Summer there and I decided to make a "beach style jewelry" since I'll be wearing all those lovely skirts and Summer dresses when I get there. I can't wait to go to the beach there.

For this set I used shells that had already holes in them, clear bicone beads and wire. I used a hemp to thread the shells and wooden beads. The wire I used for this project is 24 gauge in copper. I used it to embellish some of the shells and beads. On the necklace I used a clasp and clamp shells to finish it. I used magnetic closures for the bracelet and earring hooks for the earrings.
To make the spirals on the shells used a round nose pliers to start and then continue with the flat nose ones.


¿Adivinen que? Me voy de vacaciones esta semana y me voy a mi pais natal. El verano se acerca por allá y decidi hacer un set de joyeria con un tema mas relacionado a la playa ya que estaré usando esas faldas lindas y vestidos veraniegos cuando llege alli. No puedo esperar por ir a las playas de allá.

Para este set utilice caracoles que ya habian sido perforados, piedras bicones transparentes y alambre. Use un cordón natural para enhebrar los caracoles y piedritas de de madera. El alambre usado en este proyecto es de gauge 24 en color cobre. Lo usé para adornar algunos de los caracoles y piedritas de madera. En el collar usé un ganchillo de cierre y "clamp shells" para terminarlo. Usé cierres mangneticos en la pulsera y ganchos para los aretes.
Para hacer los espirales en los caracoles usé una tenaza de puntas redondas para comenzar y luego continue con una de puntas planas.

These are the other felt embellishments that came with the snowman and which I transform by adding extra beads, felt, sequins and other materials from my stash.I was even able to get more embellishments from them so from the 6 at the start I got 9 at the endo of this process. Can you spot the difference?


Estos son los otros adornitos de franela que vinieron junto con el hombre de nieve a los cuales transforme al agregarles extra moztacillas, franela, lentejuela y otros materiles que tengo. Inclusive puede obtener mas adornitos de los 6 al comienzo asi que se hicieron 9 al final de este proceso. ¿Puedes notar la diferencia?

THE EARLY YEARS

Here's my very first Scrapbook page with pictures of me in Kindergarten. It was a special day in which we welcomed Spring at school. My older sister Elena made me a yellow butterfly costume for me because that was my favorite color
I used flower foam to embellish on side of the page and make it look like a garden. I also added flower buttons to one picture. I stamped the title using the Plain Jane Aphabet from See D's stamps using the Whispers pens in pastel colors to match the colors of the bacground. I also added a little bee and a dome sticker. I put a small mini book in one side which has a flower cover and it's kept close by a gold metal butterfly which was part of another earring.I used a small brad to keep the butterfly in place. Inside the mini book I wrote some more journaling and the song we sang that day.


Aqui podran ver mi primera pagina de scrapbook con fotografias de mi en el jardín/nido o parvulario. Ese dia fue especial ya le dimos la bienvenida a la primavera en el colegio. Mi hermana mayor Elena me hizo el disfraz de mariposa amarilla ya que ese era mi color favorito. Utilizé flores de fomis para adornar un lado de la página y hacerla como un jardín. También añadí botones en forma de flor a una de las fotos. Estampé el titulo usando los sellos de See D's de la colección del alfabeto de Plain Jane y los plumones Whispers en colores pasteles para combinar con el fondo. También agregé una abejita y pegatina. Coloqué un mini libro en uno de los lados el cual tiene una flor en la portada y se mantiene cerrado por una mariposa de metal dorada que era parte de otro arete que desarmé. Utilizé un pequeño "brad" para mantener a la mariposa en ese sitio. Dentro del mini libro pusé mas anecdotas de esse dia incluyendo la canción que cantamos ese dia.

ROJAS RAMOS FAMILY

In this page I used 2 pictures of my family in Peru taken in different years. Made the letters for the journaling using some alphabet stencils. I also added small tags and buttons on top of each one. I used stripy wrapping paper, ribbon and a silk flower on the top. The years were stamped using the Whispers pens and the See D's alphabet stamps.

En esta pagina usé 2 fotos de mi familia en Perú que fueron tomadas en años distintos. Hice las letras del título usando un stencil del abecedario. También agregé pequeñas etiquetas con botones en cada una. Usé paper de regalo rayado, cinta y una flor de seda en la parte superior. Los años fueron estampados usando los plumones Whispers y los sellos del abecedario de la coleción de See D's.

CHRISTMAS BAUBLE IN PURPLE

It's amazing when you think how many items you have around the house or things that are not especially made for cardmaking which you can transform or adapt into great embellisments for your cards. Here's an example of what I turned into a lovely Christmas embellishment. For this card I used one earring from the pair I bought on a sale at the beginning of this year. They were too big and round and didn't suit my face so I thought they would be a great embellishment for my cards and transform the earring by adding a bow to the top to make it look like a Christmas bauble. I matted and layered it with purple cardstock. Finally I used purple wrapping paper and peel-off greeting.

Es fascinante cuando te pones a pensar cuantos articulos tienes en casa o cosas que no son especificamente para hacer tarjetas las cuales puedes transformar en geniales adornitos para tus tarjetas. Aqui esta un ejemplo de lo que convertí en un lindo adornito de navidad. Para esta tarjeta utilizé un arete del par que compré en un remate a comienzos de este año. Eran demasiado grandes y no iban con mi estilo asi que pensé que serian adornos geniales para mis tarjetas y transforme el arete en una bolita navideña al agregarle un lazo en la parte superior. Tambien pusé 2 capas mas de cartulina morada a este arete como fondo. Finalmente use papel de regalo morado y pegatinas para el saludo.

GOLD CHRISTMAS TREE

Here's a similar idea as seen on the previous card but the colour scheme has changed and I used pink, lilac and gold.
This was a recycled card I cut out the front and I "dressed it up" by sewing big beads and pink seed beads from PaperMania. I used a lilac card and the PaperMania Christmas papers I've got in my stash from last year and added the bow to the tree. I attached mixed beads to one side and a gold button. The greeting came free with a craft magazine and I used some stripy wrapping paper behing it.


Esta es una idea bastante parecida al esquema de la tarjeta anterior pero esta ves los esquemas en colores son distintos y usé colores como el rosado, lila y dorado. En esta tarjeta usé la parte frontal de una tarjeta reciclada a la cual "vestí" al coserle cuentas grandes y cuentas rosadas de Papermania. Usé una tarjeta lila como base y papeles navideños de Papermania que son diseños del año pasado que tenia a la mano y agrege un lazo en la parte superior del árbol. Tambien agregé cuentas variadas y un botón dorado a un lado de la tarjeta. El saludo "At Christmas time" vino gratis con una revista de hacer tarjetas y manualidades y use papel de regalo rayado detrás de este.

CHRISTMAS TREE & BEADS

I made this card from Let's make cards magazine kit issue 1. I sew the beads to the tree and also added the gold chain ones. I used 3-D foam squares for a 3-d effect. I also used Papermania colossal paper, vellum and peel-off stickers. My last touch a piece of ribbon tied to one side.


Hice esta tarjeta usando el kit de la revista "Let's make cards" primera edición. Cosí unas cuentas al árbol y también agregé cuentas doradas en cadena. Para darle un efecto tridimensional usé cuadrados de fomis. También usé papeles de la colecciónn Colossal de Papermania, papel para pergaminos y pegatinas.Mi último toque fue un poco de cinta alambrada amarrada a uno de los lados.

FALLLING STARS

This is one for my favorite cards I made for this coming Christmas. I used plastic stars from a chain jewellry set from Tesco; painted them with gold spray paint and attach wire and beads to them. The beads I used are a mixture of PaperMania, Tesco and ones I brought from my last trip to Peru. Used a Fiskars border punch a background paper that came free with a craft magagazine last year. I'm trying to use up all my Christmas stash I got last year. I also added glitter glue on the stars for more sparkle on this card.


Esta es una de mis tarjetas favoritas que hice para esta próxima Navidad. Usé estrellas de plástico de un ser de joyeria en cadena del supermercado Tesco; las pinté con pintura de spray y les añadí alambre dorado con cuentas de colores. Las cuentas que usé en esta tarjeta son una mezcla de las que compré en Tesco, las de Papermania y las que traje de mi ultimo viaje a Perú. Usé el perfordor de bordes de Fiskars, papel de fondo que vino gratis con una revista de hacer tarjetas y manualidades el año pasado. Estoy tratando de usar todos las cosas navideñas que ya tengo del año pasado. Tambien agregé adhecivo con purpurina en las estrellas para darle mas brillo a la tarjeta

CHRISTMAS DINNERS

Here I am with my husband Kevin in 2 of the Christmas dinners we had last year. I used PapeMania Christmas papers from last year also free papers from a scrapbook magagazine I bought last year.Added beads on one side of the pictures and eyelets.I can't help using beads as I love the sparkly touch they give to cards and other projects. The gold "Christmas" was cut out from a package of cards and the other letters were stamped and embossed with the See D's Plain Jane Alphabet. Also used stickers, clipsand the place cards we were given at those dinners.

FRIENDS-PART II

I used 3 pictures for this LO. They are my friends from university. I added some ribbon and buttons to one side of the 12x12 paper. I matted and layered the pictures, added some colorful buttons to the corners and put a verse about friendship on top of the paper.The word "friends" is embossed and I used the Ellison design embossing folders. I added glitter glue on it. My final touch was a simple quilled flower.


Para este LO use 3 fotos. Son las fotos de mis amigas de la universidad. He añadido algunas cintas y botones a un lado del papel de 12x12. Debajo de cada foto puse papeles de colores mas grandes para crear un marco y añadí botones de colores para las esquinas ademas del verso sobre la amistad en la parte superior del papel. La palabra "amigas/os" esta en relieve y es he usado el diseño la carpeta de Ellison "friends" para este diseño. Añadi pegamento escarchado (purpurina) en la paplabra "friends". El último toque fue una simple flor hecha con la técnica de filigrana.

FRIENDS- AMIGAS

I used a picture that was taken when I studied at university and here I am with my friends. I used a plain yellow 12x 12 paper for the background and added wallpaper and 8x8 vibrant papers from Papermania. I also used chipboard letters and glitter glue in some of them for the tittle but the "f" and "s" are from alphabet jigsaw that I bought for £1. I also used die-cuts from the Cuttlebug Garden collection dies and the daisies from Ellison Design. I also used a tag from Ellison design and the left-over centre from the daisies were used to add my friends' names.


En este LO usé una foto de cuando estudié en la universidad y aquí estoy con mis amigas. Empece usando papel de 12x12 de color amarillo para el fondo; añadí papel tapiz y papel de 8x8 de Papermania. También utilize "chipboard" que es un cartón grueso y pegamento con escarcha en algunas de estas letras; en el titulo la "f", y "s" son de un rompecabezas que me compre por £ 1. También utilizé "die-cuts" de la coleccion Garden de Cuttlebug y margaritas de Ellison Design. También utilizé una etiqueta de Ellison Design y los sobrantes del centro de la margaritas los use para agregar los nombres de mis amigas.

CIELITA & US

This is another LO with a picture of my dove Cielita. I used K & Co papers and also stamped the tittle on acetate. I added some assorted beads and thread them through eyelets. I cut the flowers at the bottom from the same page and overlapped them on the picture.

Este es otro LO con una foto de mi paloma llamada Cielita. Usé papel de K & Co y ademas estampé el titulo en una transparencia. Añadí algunas perlas surtidas las puse usando un hilo a través de ojetes. Finalmente corté las flores en la parte inferior de la misma página y las sobrepuse sobre la foto.

This one of seven felt stickers I bought for a £1 this morning. In the 1st picture you can see what the snowman looked like when I bought it and I took the 2nd picture after I made some further embellishing on it. I started by adding wiggly eyes and a big red pom-pom nose. I also added more detail on the hat. I added some gold ribbon holly sequins, beads and white felt. I also stitched some sequins and tiny bells on its scarf. Finallly I changed the snowman buttons for bigger red ones and added one more as a final touch.

1: If you could have 100.00 worth of scrapbook paper or assorted embellishments, which would you choose?

I would take the paper as I love the patterns on the and you can make your own embellishments from them.

2. If you had to choose between using only stamps or rubons, which would you choose?

I'd go for the stamps as they can be used over and over again and if you take good care of them they will last long.
3. If you knew how to do both awesome cards and layouts but could only do one for a whole year...which would you do?

I'll do layouts as I love taking pictures and love to scrap them though I've started last year I'm not a really experienced scrapper but love to experiment using new materials in my LO's

4. Would you rather own a scrapbooking store or have your own scrapping room at home?

Well my hubby have just agreed for me to have a small crafting area in one of our bedrooms. I'd love to have a huge scrapping room like those I've seen on pictures but I'm quite happy with my small crafting space now.

5. And last but not least, what is your CURRENT cardmaking or scrapping style?

I think it's a little bit funky and glitzy. I love using wire and beads in most of my cards and other crafty projects. I also have started to make funky wire jewelry recently.

BABY GUILLEMOT

This is LO with a lovely Baby Guillemot which are born at the Bangor Marina. Every year new baby get a ring to keep track of them. I love this LO because I'm a big animal lover. I used different button shapes to emphasize the picture and added the tittle in tiny tags which I embossed using the Whisper pens and clear embossing powder. I also added some journaling on the background and stickers. I used sticky ribbon and letter I cut from a stencil to form the word "Guillemot"

WARD PARK

This is a page which some pictures I took at Ward Park in different months last year. I love to be in contact with nature and I love animals. I used a one color page in orange and some brown crepe paper for the bottom of my LO. I used stamps to add the tittle in orange, yellow and brown.Also added a big die cut daisy from Ellison Design and a button. The photos were matted and layered too.
