X-mas 2013

Some of the few cards I made for this Christmas. I used a mixure of materials like peel-offs; glitter, metallic papers, foam pads, recycled images from other cards, Christmas embellishment and left-over papers from other projects.

Five Little Trees

I made this Christmas-inspired bracelet using 0.8mm and 0.6 mm copper wire, 0.6mm coloured wire, copper jump rings, lobster clasps, red rocailles and jewellery pliers. I also used wirework techniques and Macramé knots to create and embellish the little trees.

Beaded Tree

Still one more spinner card. I hand cut the tree for this one and embossed it using a Cuttlebug embossing folder to enhance. I also used beads, peel-offs, ribbon, Bobunny papers, foam pads, holographic tape and a star gem.

Latin Beads

BLUE CHRISTMAS TREE

Here's another christmas tree I made but this time I use a pipe cleaner. I also added some big beads to make it more sparkly and a silk bow at the top complete the look of my tree.
For the background I used blue felt,white and light-blue cardstock. To add texture to the white card I used the CuttleBug Circle embossing folder and chalked the ends. I also used some glittered paper I was able to recycle form a gift bag, a couple of star buttons and a greeting also recycle from another card.

Aqui esta otra de los arbolitos navideños que hice pero esta vez usé un limpiapipas. Tambien le agregé perlas grande para hacerlo mas brillante y un lazo de seda para completar el look de mi árbol.
Para el fondo use franela azul y cartulina blanca y celeste. Para añadirle textura a la cartulina blanca use el folder de CuttleBug de circulos y pusé tiza en los extremos. Tambien use papel con escarcha que pude reciclar de una bolsa de regalo, un par de botones de estrella y un saludito que reciclé de otra tarjeta

GOLD CHRISTMAS TREE

Here's a similar idea as seen on the previous card but the colour scheme has changed and I used pink, lilac and gold.
This was a recycled card I cut out the front and I "dressed it up" by sewing big beads and pink seed beads from PaperMania. I used a lilac card and the PaperMania Christmas papers I've got in my stash from last year and added the bow to the tree. I attached mixed beads to one side and a gold button. The greeting came free with a craft magazine and I used some stripy wrapping paper behing it.


Esta es una idea bastante parecida al esquema de la tarjeta anterior pero esta ves los esquemas en colores son distintos y usé colores como el rosado, lila y dorado. En esta tarjeta usé la parte frontal de una tarjeta reciclada a la cual "vestí" al coserle cuentas grandes y cuentas rosadas de Papermania. Usé una tarjeta lila como base y papeles navideños de Papermania que son diseños del año pasado que tenia a la mano y agrege un lazo en la parte superior del árbol. Tambien agregé cuentas variadas y un botón dorado a un lado de la tarjeta. El saludo "At Christmas time" vino gratis con una revista de hacer tarjetas y manualidades y use papel de regalo rayado detrás de este.

I made this card from Let's make cards magazine kit issue 1. I sew the beads to the tree and also added the gold chain ones. I used 3-D foam squares for a 3-d effect. I also used Papermania colossal paper, vellum and peel-off stickers. My last touch a piece of ribbon tied to one side.


Hice esta tarjeta usando el kit de la revista "Let's make cards" primera edición. Cosí unas cuentas al árbol y también agregé cuentas doradas en cadena. Para darle un efecto tridimensional usé cuadrados de fomis. También usé papeles de la colecciónn Colossal de Papermania, papel para pergaminos y pegatinas.Mi último toque fue un poco de cinta alambrada amarrada a uno de los lados.

ANOTHER FUNKY WIRE SHAPE

This is the another wire tree I made with a jig but this time I deciced to use modern colors and here's the result. I went for the blues, silvers and whites. Used the same gauge of wire (24)but in silver. The gauge of the wire refers to the thickness so for this shapes I didn't use a very thick one. It's easier to handle thinner ones. It also depends on your project too.
I also added some embossing and used the CB Circle embossing folder and use it as a background for this card. Finally I added some peel-offs.

It's all about wire

Wire is my new addition to my cardmaking and I think it look great when you make shapes and add some beads for a sparkling touch. It's not that difficult to make lovely shapes if you use a wire jig. I used a plastic jig for this project and the fine peg so the loops will about the same shape. I used 24 gauge wire and it was 60 cm long. I added the beads as I got to the next turn. Some people recommend to thread all your beads first and push them down as you need them. Maybe that could a time saving option. Once finished I attach the wire tree with some small brads. I made this card in traditional colors so I use green, red and a little bit of gold. I added some chunky beads on the fine ribbon for a glamorous touch.

WIRE TREE & BEADS

This is my 1st Christmas card of this year. I used a thin silver wire (24 gauge) and a wire jig to make the tree. I added some beads in different sizes and some punched bows and glitter. I colored the wire with the green whisper permanent pen and attached it to the card with brads. Used a star sequins on the top and made the bottom of the tree with brads. Matted and layered with green and red miri card. I used a free paper that came with a Scrapbook mag last year and also some ribbon to some sides.

WIRE CHRISTMAS

This is the wire tree and beads I made using a wire gig. I added the beads as I was twisting the wire around the pegs. This is my 2nd wire tree and I like the result very much. Looks really funky but at the same time it's still traditional. Used some small round brads to attach it to the mulberry paper and card. I'm into wire embellishments these days!
