Finally I'm back with my first post of this year - work,  nail art, volunteering and running do take most of my time... I made this a little while ago. I used glass beads; a recycled chain with an antique finish; acrylic beads; eye pins and connectors.

Well, it's been a while since my last post (been so busy at work) but thought I would share this necklace with you. I used a vintage brooch I bought in a charity shop; faceted beads, crackle glass beads, grey beads, 0.6mm silver plated wire and a recycled necklace. I embellished the brooch with small recycled rhinestones and wire wrapped the dangling beads. Very pleased with the results.

Roses are Red - Part II

Matching earrings made for the Roses are Red Necklace I used a mixture of red glass and crystal beads; I also used glass pearls, gold plated jump rings, head pins and earrings wire. I used jewellery pliers to create the wire wrapped feature at the top of every dangling bead. These are one of favourite pair of earrings and are great to wear as we get close to the festive season.

La Vita e Dolce

One of the things I love doing is customizing or revamping items that either I had for a long while without wearing or have picked up in a charity shop. I love bargains and these sandals have been one of my recent and great find. When I saw the plain metal strap; the ideas started to stir my mind quickly. I couldn't resist add some more colour, style and detail to the plain straps so I dig out my selection of cube crystals, faceted beads and seed beads in bronze/warm hues of brown. I embellished both straps by wrapping gold plated wire and my chosen beads all around. I'm so pleased with the result and now the sandals have that designer and luxury touch too.

Una de las cosas que me encanta hacer es personalizar y arreglar articulos que o bien haya tenido por largo tiempo sin usar o haya adquirido en una tienda de caridad. Me encantan las gangas y estas sandalias han sido unas de mis mas recientes y geniales descubrimientos. Cuando vi la tira simple de metal; las ideas revolotearon en mi mente rapidamente. No puede resistir el ponerles un poco de color, estilo y detalle a las tiras simples asi que desenterré mi selección de cubos de cristal, cuentas con facetas y mostacillas en tonos calidos de marrón y bronce. Decoré ambas tiras al amarrar alambre dorado con las cuentas seleccionadas. Estoy tan satisfecha con el resultado y ahora las sandalias tienen ese toque de lujosidad y de diseñador también.

A long necklace with history. This necklace has a little bit of something...the big glass heart pendant came from The British Heart Foundation; the charity I volunteer for since last year. The copper lockets came from a recycled bracelet - I added some tiny pictures from my gorgeous husbby and my beloved cat Hot Paws. The chain was also recycled from another necklace. The teal faceted beads were part of a magazine prize. Finally the crystals, copper head pins, jump rings and beads caps came from my bead stash

Un collar largo con historia. Este collar tiene de todo un poco...el pendiente de vidrio en forma de corazon vino de The British Heart Foundation; la tienda de caridad en la cual soy voluntaria desde el año pasado. Los relicarios de cobre provinieron de un pulsera reciclada - Les puse unas fotos chiquititas de my maravilloso esposo y mi amada gata Hot Paws. La cadena tambien fue reciclada de otro collar. Las cuentas con facetas en color "teal" fueron parte de un premio que recibi de una revista. Finalmente los cristales, las agujas de cobre, anillas y bonetes de las cuentas provinieron de mi coleccion de cuentas.
